What is better to drink when losing weight from alcoholic beverages? Is it possible to drink and lose weight at the same time

what alcohol you can drink while losing weight

The fashion for a slim and slender figure does its job - from time to time we all follow diets.

But a few holidays can ruin your efforts, and the reason is alcohol consumption.

How alcohol affects weight loss

The most important negative effect is dehydration. In this case, the cells lose not only water, but also the necessary minerals and trace elements, which play an important role in metabolism and therefore in weight loss or gain.

Under the influence of alcohol a person easily violates the prohibitions, eats much more than expected, and more satisfying meals. As a product, alcohol has no nutritional value, our body will burn calories from it in the first place, but all the others obtained with it will be set aside.

Alcohol has been shown to lower testosterone levels and impair digestion, which also leads to weight gain in exchange for desired weight loss.

What kind of alcohol doesn't interfere much with diet

Obviously, sweet alcohol is very high in calories and should not be allowed on a diet. Ethyl alcohol itself has 710 kcal per 100 grams, which means that all alcoholic beverages are also high in calories.

Foods excluded from the diet include all sweet, semi-sweet and fortified wines, champagne, liqueurs and cahors. It is better not to consume beer at all during weight loss: despite its low nutritional value, it contains phytoestrogens, slows down metabolism and promotes the growth of adipose tissue in the body.

It is permissible to drink one or two glasses of dry wine, approximately 150-200 ml in volume. The wine can be red or white, depending on your preferences, with a strength of 7-11%.

What to eat alcohol during the diet

If you keep track of your weight, choose for snacks:

  • low-fat cheese;
  • roast or boiled chicken, turkey, beef, veal;
  • roasted, steamed or cooked vegetables;
  • fish (excluding fried and smoked);
  • lemon.

To reduce the overall harm from exposure to alcohol, the most important thing is not to abuse, not to drink too much. Try to refrain from strong and sweet alcoholic beverages.

If you still participate in a feast, eat foods that contain protein.
